19th Day 12 April 2010
Johannesburg - Seweto
The breakfast was extensive and rich as ever. The ambience in the hotel is very nice, it feels almost like at the airport: Surrounded by aircraft parts and the "Wings" from the dining room almost tangible.
Sorry, but no "pilot", which brings us back to Vienna. But we can not hang our heads, we must have patience and make the best of this situation.

At 12.15 we start with 3 mini-buses on.
Johannesburg has 3.3 million inhabitants, has a pleasant climate because it lies at an altitude of 1752 meters.
The first stop is the imposing square with the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.
Here is the tallest building in Africa with a height of 146 m and 50 floors.
Our next stop is Soweto (short for South West Township). Here we make a photo stop at an old disused power station, the towers are painted in bright colors to visit.

This is also reflected in the architecture of the houses. There are many so-called matchbox houses. Those so designated because of their design houses, were under the government of Mandela the poor free of charge, with the aim of getting them from the tin huts and wooden shacks out.
Despite all the efforts you see these poor huts and over again.

Finally we visit the Pieterson Museum, where the bloody path of the black population is represented in the expressive freedom again.
On the way back to the hotel we still hold the largest stadium in the country of the setting sun in photographs and films to be recorded.
This stadium holds 95 000 Visitors and has been renovated for the opening and final match of the FIFA World Cup 2010.
